The Opinel round-tipped safety knife is ideal for allowing children to learn how to carve wood under adult supervision. This knife is ideal for the younger person as a first knife. Because of its round tip and double safety ring "VIROBLOC" locks the blade in an open or closed position. Also ideal for picnics, peeling fruit , spreading condiments etc.

Great knife for kids to whittle with. Does not have the very sharp point found on other opinal knives. I bought 2, mainly for my son, but I now use mine as my main pocket knife. The lack of point and locking blade feels right for most jobs. Still manged to cut myself though as very sharp! A serioius knife for the safety conscious.
