ESEE Fire Kit
The ESEE Fire Kit is a very solid and well-built emergency firesteel and tinder container with a built-in navigational compass which is located on the side of the screw top tinder compartment lid, a little like the 1980's 'Rambo Knives' but this time around built for actual use and functionality from high-end materials and expert craftsmanship. The firesteel rod is 41.66mm long and has a width of 9.48mm. Due to the size, the rod will last a long time, each shower of sparks creating fires, even if the tool is wet for the elements. The tinder compartment is water-tight due to a seal and has a depth of 44mm, of which approx. 35mm is usable for tinder storage once the lid is screwed on. The handle is 7cm in length and written on the surface are survival tips, although the unit is also supplied with a weatherproof survival tips card for emergencies. The lid also offers a lanyard hole so the unit can be worn around your neck.
ESEE Fire Kit - How To Use:
To use the firesteel is simple. Remove tinder from the handle (not supplied) but we're nice folks here at Greenman Bushcraft and if you ask in advance, we will happily add some for you. Strike the flint rod with the back of a knife blade and direct the hot shower of fire lighting sparks onto a tinder bundle and watch it erupt into flames! And kindling, and once that has caught add some larger fuel. That's it! Fire, DONE!
