Crab Fishing Hand Line
Crab lines and crab fishing may well be more seaside fun than bushcraft, but it's all about getting children (and the big ones) outside and enjoying themselves, and how many of us have very fond memories of standing on a pier, or from some seashore rocks fishing for crabs with a crab line? We're guessing the answer will be 'yes' for many of you.
Crab Fishing Hand Lines
Our Crab Lines are based on the traditional bright orange pattern, and loaded with 13 metres of black mariners line, a barbless hook (safer for children and makes no difference when crab fishing) and a weight for dropping the bait and hook effectively.
Crab Fishing Bait
Crabs are not fussy creatures, but ideally bait needs to be meat or fish-based. Foods such as bacon, mackerel and chicken are all good, although one of the best baits is frozen sand eels which can be purchased from tackle shops.
