Description

Unlike many of the cheap firesteel blanks on the market, our ferroicum rods are of a very high-grade, better than many used in some of the branded firesteels. Our fire steels are made especially for us, so we ensure that they're made to very high standards and create many sparks. Simply strike the fire flints with the back of a knife made from carbon or stainless steel to produce a shower of red hot sparks to create fires. Our ferroicum rods are designed to last for approx. 8,000 to 10,000 strikes, so in an emergency situation this is potentially how many fires you can start with one of our firesteels.

Each army firesteel rod is waterproof and will spark against any hard objects, such as steel. To create a unique look, make your own firesteel by simply adding a handle. Making firesteels is fantastic fun for scouts and bushcraft classes.

Top Quality blanks. I have fallen into the trap of ordering cheaper blanks from private sellers etc and each time I have received sub standard blanks! On this occasion I have received an item that gives good sparks easily! They are nearly 10mm thick which I didnt realise! Will last a LONG time!
