CUSTOMER REVIEWS

"Purchased the elk ridge bushcraft knife,it arrived packed well and in a dedicated cardboard box, with safety rubber for the tip of the blade. The sheath is nylon and is as described as advertised. Firesteel and sharpening stone are token items, to my mind. But will do the job that was intended for them short term. The knife is 5mm thick and will do battoning with its concave grind and weight of 9 ozs or 260g stainless steel blade and full tang ,shaped with a finger guard and finger hooked heel. With squared off cheeks,(important reason for me to buy the knife) The cheeks are screwed in with recessed screws. I will be taping these in as not to loose them if they become loose from battoning , the cheeks are not glued in place. Within the knife these screws hide a secret compartment for waterproof matches needle and thread, tokens for your own ideas ? This knife will enable me to process small wood for a Kelly kettle also will not rust in a sea salt enviroment. I reguard this knife as a light axe, for me the right knife in body and price, great value for £30. "

"So, I've had this knife for several months now and I've used it a lot. Both here in the UK and in the forests of Estonia over the winter, and I can say with out a doubt its worth every penny. I've used it for a range of task from making feather sticks, tarp stakes all the ways to battoning and skinning game and it had preformed flawlessly through out. The one thing that's impressed me the most though, is how it has retained its edge with out me ever needing to re-sharpen once even with all the hash tests ive put it through. I wasn't expecting that for a hollow grind. The sheath is a good quality black nylon. I've never owned a nylon sheath before but its proved its worth in Estonia while I was getting it wet all the time and it never shrunk like a poor quality leather can tend to do and when I got back I could just simply wack it in a wash to clean it with no effect to the structure of the sheath. The only thing I will mention is that the fero rod and sharpening stone isn't the best but when you only paying in the region of £30 for it all, the quality of those items is easily forgiving and didn't bother me one bit as I just replaced them with my own higher quality items such as my DC4 with still fit snuggly in the pocket on the sheath. the Last thing I will mention is the fact that I kind of like the storage compartment I found in the scales with the matches and sewing kit. again I just replace the low quality matches with my own but still a great idea to be able to put some emergency storm matches and a couple chlorine tablets in there. So yes, I am well impressed with this knife and would recommend it to anyone. "

"The item arrived quicly and was well packaged. I've not used it yet, but will do once I am in the woods or Jumgles of the Philipines. First impression is that the knife looks good value for the money. It feels very solid and sturdy and is well made and also with quite a sharp blade. The sheath in my opinion is not great, but it's usable for now. I think the free sharpening stone that came with it and the spark rod rod and steel work well & good to have in the sheath. For the money invested a great and useful piece of kit. Plus on flights nice to see that it will be all together in your kit bag."

"This item arrived promptly and well packaged. I've yet to use it out in the woods but my first impression is that this knife is good value for money. It feels very robust and is well made and also came with quite a sharp blade. The sheath isn't the best but it's still acceptable, I don't think I'll be using the sharpening stone that came with it but the ferro rod and steel work well and are a good addition. On balance for the money I think this was a good purchase."
